Hiring Great People for Your Resort

 If you want to have great people working at your resort it is critical that you take the time to clearly understand what kind of people you want put it in writing and then go after those kinds of people. Below are some things that when executed correctly will give you a much better chance of ending up with the right people on your team.

  • Clearly defining what you are looking for before you start a search.
  • Defining the process for getting from a large group of potential candidates down to the final group you want to interview.
  • Defining the interview process:
  1. Who will be doing the interviewing?
  2. What will the core consistent questions be?
  3. How will you record and evaluate the answers to the core questions and other discussions?
  4. Who will make the final decision?
  • How will you make the best possible determination that the selected person can and will do the job?
  1. Interview results.
  2. Assessments
  3. Skills testing
  4. Background checking
  5. Reference checking
  • Who will make the job offer and in what format?
  • Who will inform the candidates that were not selected
  • When will the unsuccessful candidates be notified versus the successful candidate (timing)?
  • What records will be kept and for how long?

 

Consider taking these steps and making the related decisions and your chances of getting the right people on the bus will improve greatly.
